Anyway, it was a great night is what I'm tryin' to say. If you missed it, please don't miss the next one. We try to give you a really powerful live show and take the CD to another level. There will be talent scouts, management, popular signed artists looking for new music etc. To hear her acoustic versions of some songs she'll be performing at the festival, please click the sounds "button" on the home page of our site. For more information on the festival please click on the link at: www.songwritersfestival.com 5/10/03 ~ Thanks to all who attended the Beltaine Celebration in Wantagh State Park last weekend. You were a great audience to play for and you were kind enough to purchase lots of CDs (always a good thing and, for that, we doubly thank you). The Beltaine ceremonies were quite impressive to behold and there was a real positive vibe going on throughout the day. Today, SOLSTAR travels to New Hope, PA for a show at the newest Triumph Brewing Company. We were recently booked back at The Baggot Inn in Greenwich Village for an early show on Friday, May 30th. As always, check our Calendar page for the latest details on our upcoming live performances. And thank you for your continued support of live music! 4/14/03 ~ A 3-set show at Who-Ville in Bethpage this past Saturday gave the band a chance to really stretch out and jam on a few songs. It was a night of SOLSTAR originals and some of our favorite cover tunes, including The Police's "Message In A Bottle", Foo Fighters' "Learn To Fly" and Led Zep's "What Is And What Should Never Be". We return to Who-Ville on June 14th and hope to see another good turnout. New Jersey and Pennsylvania fans take note! On Saturday, May 10th, SOLSTAR travels to New Hope, PA to perforn at the newest Triumph Brewing Company restaurant. This is a huge 12,000 square foot, 2-level facility with food and drink worth driving for. Great microbrewed beer! We'll be playing two long sets starting at 10:15 p.m. 3/7/03 ~ The Village Voice said "....the Baggot Inn is one of the best small listening rooms I've stumbled on in a long time: dark, intimate, with low ceilings, great acoustics-- even a decent house Merlot." On Friday, March 14th, SOLSTAR makes a rare visit to the big city as we travel to the heart of historic Greenwich Village to perform an early set (8-9 pm) at The Baggot Inn. Now, we haven't played in full electric format for quite some time so we are ready to rock boys and girls!! Expect an energy charged, ballad-free set. Hope to see a lot of the regulars and some new faces in da house! Peace out 3/1/03 ~ Thank God February 2003 is history. And thank God for music and the company of friends to get us through these cold ass nights. March brings a couple of shows and another appearance on the radio! First, on Thursday, March 6th, SOLSTAR will perform acoustic with Austin Kuebler at The Fin Bar & Grill in East Atlantic Beach. Next, on Friday March 14th, a rare visit to the big city. We'll be playing an early set (8-9 p.m.) at The Baggot Inn located right in the heart of Greenwich Villlage. Check out the Calendar page for more information and links to each of the venues web sites. Then, on Saturday March 15th, SOLSTAR will be guests on the Long Island Music Zone radio show broadcast on WGBB AM-1240 from 8-9 p.m. We think it's cool that this website has now received over 4,000 hits in just over a year. After two months, we were finally able to transfer the www.solstar.net domain name to this site. We are now working on transfering the www.lisaitts.com domain name here as well. Thank you for your patience and kind support over the past year. Also, check out the redesigned and much more user-friendly Lyrics page. Peace! 2/2/03 ~ From the "This Just In" department: On Saturday morning, February 8th, SOLSTAR will be the in-studio guest artists on Mike Ferrari's Aural Fix Transmission Radio Show. The show is web broadcast from C.W. Post University on Web Radio WCWP. To listen to the show , go to our Calendar page, and click on the link shown in the listing. You will need the RealONE Media Player on your computer to listen to the broadcast. SOLSTAR is scheduled during the second hour of the show probably from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. However, we definitely recommend that you listen to all of Mike's show which is broadcast over the web each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's one of the best places to hear great original music being created right here on Long Island. 1/27/03 ~ Whew, baby it's cold outside! We know it's been a little quiet around here lately, but we've started to add some bookings to our 2003 calendar. Check our Calendar page for the latest info. Backstreet Blues, one of our favorite venues, has been sold and is closed for renovations probably until the end of February. We hope to get back on their stage shortly after they reopen in March. Other news: The Zen Den in Babylon Village has been sold and will be closed for a few weeks. Right now, we're not sure what the live music situation is going to be under the new ownership. The Fin Bar & Grill in East Atlantic Beach has not been sold and remains open and our good friend Austin Kuebler runs a great live music program there on Thursday nights. Come on out to The Fin on February 6th, and catch us in acoustic format, along with Connecticcut artist, Jen Taylor and Austin, the man, himself. Meanwhile, stay warm and be careful out there people! 12/31/02 ~ Well, here we are on New Year's Eve and, first off, we want to apologize to those who have been having trouble getting to this site. Technical problems occurred in connection with a switch to a new server. These problems should be cleared up in the next few days. On top of that, Lisa's home computer died and we lost a good portion of our email mailing list. So we are asking all visitors to either sign our guestbook or send us an email with your email address and we will rebuild our list. That said, come on down to the ZEN DEN in Babylon Village on Saturday night (January 4th) for evening of *SOLSTAR* acoustic music. And we wish all a most happy and healthy New Year! Go JETS!!! 12/4/02 ~ *SOLSTAR* makes a guest appearance at our good friend Austin Kuebler's CD release party at The Fin Bar & Grill in East Atlantic Beach on Thursday, December 5th. We go on about 9 p.m. Come down and help us celebrate the release of Austin's new music. Should be a lot of fun. Also, fans of The Doors should seriously check out our next show at Backstreet Blues in Rockville Centre. World famous Doors tribute band, THE SOFT PARADE, will be headlining the show on Saturday, December 14th. Check out their website at www.thesoftparade.com. *SOLSTAR* will be rolling out a Xmas tune and a new cover tune. We go on at 9 p.m. and SOFT PARADE goes on at 10:30 p.m. That's it for now. Hope to see you at a show soon. Happy Holidays to all. 10/31/02 ~ Happy Halloween *SOLSTAR* fans! Thanks to all who came down to Backstreet Blues on 10/19. A big crowd showed up as new drummer Joe O'Connell made his performing debut with the band. A big thanks to the extended O'Connell clan for all their support! *SOLSTAR* played a long set of favorite originals along with a couple of cool covers. Chumslick Nick & The Sharks followed and treated the crowd to their own special brand of rockin' blues originals and covers. These guys are great musicians and a lot of fun to watch. Be sure and mark your calendars for Saturday, November 23rd, a very special evening, when *SOLSTAR* returns to Backsteet Blues to open up for the legendary Little Buster & The Soul Brothers! ![]() Website Design & Hosting by Design Results Intro Bookings News Tour Bios Photos Music Video Merchandise Links Reviews Contact |
